Dawn O'Connell, LPCABOUT DAWN:
Dawn earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. She has experience working alongside children, teens, and adults to help them navigate emotional challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and other mental health diagnoses related to compulsion and emotional regulation. A significant aspect of her practice is the belief that movement is life; she incorporates regular movement into therapy for all clients, including supporting athletes facing performance anxiety. A FEW WORDS FROM DAWN: As a narrative therapist, I integrate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness exercises tailored to each client's unique needs. I utilize a three-part system to help build resilience and effectively process difficult life events or manage diagnoses. I understand that seeking help can feel daunting, and it's normal to experience a mix of emotions when facing life's challenges. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone—compassionate support is just a step away. If you're ready to explore your thoughts and work towards change, I invite you to reach out. OTHER INTERESTS: In my free time, I enjoy painting, Spartan and mud races, hiking, climbing, and spending quality time with my family. I look forward to connecting with you soon! " Our society is much more interested in information than wonder, in noise rather than silence...and I feel that we need a lot more wonder and a lot more silence in our lives."
